In two weeks Saint-Etienne Design Biennale opens its doors for a month filled with exhibitions, events and conferences. For the upcoming edition (21.03 - 22.04) Saint-Etienne, member of the Unesco label for creative cities, selected creation of new common grounds as a focal theme.

This meeting under the ME - YOU - NOUS name aims to discover a coherent set of objects, artistic expressions, systems, and standpoints that shape our world. It will be an opportunity to reveal which forms allow to coexist and to collaborate.

ME - YOU – NOUS talks about inclusion at the age of division, individualism and fear of one another, of technologies, nature, and of the future. To reach further, outside our boundaries, in order to consider and understand our neighbours who have their proper points of view, sometimes quite opposite from ours. To look outside of corporate bubbles, technology or marketing in order to address the public, their needs, their desires and, ultimately, their dreams.

“In 2019 we choose to showcase how design may enable, whatever are the differences we encounter, creation of a common future, should we be talking about products, services or public strategies,”  declared Gaël Perdriau, mayor of Saint-Etienne and president of Saint-Etienne Cité du design as well as Saint-Etienne Higher School of Art and Design.

It is within this context and as an active member of the Rhônapi (Auvergne - Rhône-Alpes Natural Stones association) created in 2015 by the stone professionals working in this region, that Marc Morel in charge of the production cycle at Brocatelle will speak on the 28th of March during the day dedicated to materials and design. His presentation « Light Weight Light » will put forward technology behind the lightweight natural stone panels laminated to aluminium honeycomb structure and to extra-clear glass.
